Samsung Electronics Gumi Plant Reports New COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] A new case of COVID-19 infection has occurred again at Samsung Electronics' Gumi plant after 15 days.
According to the industry on the 21st, the 7th confirmed case was reported at Samsung Electronics' Gumi plant in Gyeongbuk. The confirmed case is an employee of the Wireless Division at Gumi Plant 2, who was suspected of contact with a confirmed patient and had been in self-quarantine since the 28th of last month.
However, Samsung Electronics stated that since the employee had not entered the plant since the 25th of last month, the plant will continue normal operations without closure.

Previously, four employees in the Wireless Division at Samsung Electronics Gumi Plant 2 were confirmed positive, and employees from the bank at the same plant and the Network Division at Gumi Plant 1 were also confirmed positive.
