Geumcheon-gu 'Safe Book Reservation and Loan Service'
After reserving on the Geumcheon District Library website, pick up at the library the next day... Mask wearing, temperature check, and hand sanitizing required for entry to prevent COVID-19 spread... Up to 10 books per person can be borrowed for 14 days, with a one-time 7-day extension allowed
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) will implement the ‘Safe Book Reservation and Loan Service,’ which allows residents to reserve desired books in advance and pick them up at the library the next day, starting from the 19th.
The ‘Safe Book Reservation and Loan Service’ was established to satisfy students’ reading needs and respond to residents’ book loan requests amid the closure of public libraries and the postponement of school openings due to the spread of COVID-19.
Residents who wish to use the service can apply by entering the book title, author, publisher, and pickup time on the Book Reservation and Loan Service board on the Geumcheon-gu Public Library website.
Residents who have applied for book loans can check the availability through comments on the board and then pick up the books at each library at the designated pickup time the day after the application, bringing their membership card. Returns can be made using the unmanned return machines at the library where the books were borrowed.
Up to 10 books can be borrowed per person for 14 days, with a one-time extension of 7 days allowed. Books currently on loan are excluded from the allowable borrowing count.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, wearing a mask is mandatory when picking up books, and entry to the library is allowed only after temperature checks and hand sanitizer use.
Geumcheon-gu Public Library offers 6,914 types of e-books through its website. E-books can be accessed via the ‘Digital Library’ menu’s ‘E-books’ category on the website after registering as a member, available on the internet or mobile devices.
