Gwangyang-si, COVID-19 Prevention Volunteers Working Hard
Jungmadong Tongjang Association and Jungmadong Youth Association Efforts to Alleviate Residents' Anxiety
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 16th, the Jungmadong Neighborhood Association (President Park Jongsik) and the Jungmadong Youth Association (President Jeong Yucheol) in Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do announced that they volunteered for disinfection work over the weekend to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
About 20 members of the Jungmadong Neighborhood Association and 8 members of the Youth Association formed five teams of two people each and worked from 10 a.m. until late at night, spraying and wiping disinfectant in every corner of about 1,000 business establishments such as billiard halls and cafes in Jungmadong, sweating through the disinfection efforts.
Park Jongsik, president of the Neighborhood Association, said, “Residents are very anxious about COVID-19, so we are doing our best with the neighborhood leaders to be of some help,” and added, “I hope the residents’ anxiety will be resolved as soon as possible.”
