[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] The ninth installment of the movie series "Fast & Furious," titled "Fast & Furious: The Ultimate," has postponed its worldwide release date due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

On the 13th, the "Fast & Furious 9" team stated in a press release, "It is becoming clear that fans around the world will not be able to watch this movie in theaters this coming May," adding, "We plan to change the North American release date of 'Fast & Furious: The Ultimate' to April 2, 2021, and all global release dates to April 2021."

They continued, "We understand that having to wait a little longer for the release is very disappointing, but the safety of everyone is our top priority. Through this change in release dates, we will do our best to ensure that all 'Fast & Furious' families worldwide can experience the new chapter of this series together. We ask for your deep understanding and look forward to greeting you next spring."

Previously, "Fast & Furious 9," which had already postponed its release date once due to COVID-19, had confirmed a domestic release on May 20. However, as COVID-19 spread globally, the release was postponed once again.
