[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is conducting a public contest for a youth project activity support program to provide various self-development opportunities where young people can challenge themselves and showcase their dreams and talents.
Now in its fifth year, this program (Open 5 Minutes Before Project Support Program) is a youth club activity support program that helps young people grow independently and creatively by supporting projects that they plan, execute, and evaluate themselves.
The district has allocated a budget of 110 million KRW to actively support local youth in expressing their dreams and talents across various fields.
Applicants must be groups of five or more youths aged 9 to 24 residing in Dobong-gu. Selected groups will receive up to 2 million KRW in project activity funds, and network programs held three times a year?including launch ceremonies, joint camps, and year-end general meetings?will be supported to promote collaboration and exchange among youth clubs.
The application period is until March 29. Applicants should refer to the announcements and notices on the Dobong-gu Office website and prepare documents such as the ‘Application Form, Activity Plan, Member List, Activity Video (for cultural and artistic fields),’ then submit them via email to jink0206@dobong.go.kr.
During the application period, applicants must visit one of the youth facilities (Changdong Youth Center, Changdong Youth Culture House, Ssangmun-dong Youth Culture House, Ssangmun-dong Youth Land, Dobong Youth Nuri-ter With) to receive prior consulting on their project activity plan, and designate one adult mentor such as a youth leader or parent.
Last year, through the Innovative Education District Youth Project, the district supported project activities for about 770 participants from 58 clubs, including the Youth Culture Planning Group, local volunteer campaign planning, and human rights debates.
Additionally, network programs held three times a year?including launch ceremonies, joint camps, and year-end general meetings?are conducted to promote collaboration and exchange among youth clubs.
