'COVID-19 Confirmed' Two Inmates Released on Bail and Placed Under Self-Quarantine (Comprehensive)

Two inmates who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were released on bail.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 10th, the Gimcheon Branch of Daegu District Court approved the bail applications of two inmates at Gimcheon Juvenile Prison who tested positive for COVID-19 last week. They immediately entered self-quarantine after their release.
It is understood that they were infected with COVID-19 after sharing a room with inmate A (60), who tested positive on the 29th of last month. Inmate A was released on suspension of detention and is currently receiving treatment at Pohang Medical Center.
At Daegu Detention Center, one more staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day. On the 7th, a staff member at this detention center also tested positive, and specimen tests for close contacts are currently underway.
The correctional authorities have determined that the two infected staff members did not have close contact with each other. The exact route of infection has not yet been confirmed.

The total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in correctional facilities has increased to eight (2 at Daegu Prison, 2 at Daegu Detention Center, 1 at Gyeongbuk Northern Second Prison, and 3 at Gimcheon Juvenile Prison). The three confirmed cases at Gimcheon Juvenile Prison are inmates, while the others are correctional facility staff.
