Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts Safety Inspection During Thawing Season
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has established safety measures for disaster-vulnerable facilities during the thawing season and will conduct safety inspections of hazardous facilities in the province during this period.
In particular, a comprehensive survey will be conducted over two months until May on 29,822 fire water facilities across the province. This survey plans to check the normal operation of fire water facilities and carry out early replacement of defective units.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters warned that during the thawing season from late February to early April, as the frozen ground melts, the possibility of safety accidents around residential retaining walls, embankments, slopes, and construction sites is much higher than usual, urging caution.
According to the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, during the thawing season last year in February and March, 69 water-related accidents and 11 collapse accidents occurred in the province, respectively.
