Shincheonji Church Member Under Active Surveillance Falls from 11th Floor of Apartment
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon, Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] A Shincheonji Church member under active monitoring due to the possibility of infection with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) fell from the 11th floor of an apartment building.
On the 10th, Jeonbuk Province and Jeongeup Police Station announced, "At 10:36 p.m. on the 9th, a woman in her 40s, Ms. A, fell from the 11th floor of an apartment in Susong-dong, Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk."
Ms. A received cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other treatments from 119 paramedics who responded to a report from a resident of the apartment saying, "Someone fell from the 11th floor," but she was reported to have been in a state of death.
Ms. A, included in the Shincheonji Church member list secured by Jeonbuk Province, was confirmed to have undergone COVID-19 testing twice recently. Both results were negative.
On the day Ms. A died, the 9th, she was reportedly contacted twice by health authorities to check on her health status.
A Jeonbuk Province official said, "Ms. A was included in the Shincheonji Church member list, underwent COVID-19 testing, and tested negative. She was currently under active monitoring, and the monitoring period was scheduled to end on the 13th."
