Gwanak-gu Reports 6th COVID-19 Case (Zumba Dance Instructor)
28-year-old woman residing in Miseong-dong, Gwanak-gu confirmed to have attended Cheonan Zumba dance instructor workshop
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) reported the 6th confirmed case of COVID-19 on the 8th.
The sixth confirmed case is a 28-year-old woman residing in Miseong-dong, Gwanak-gu, who was identified to have attended a Zumba dance instructor workshop in Cheonan on the 15th of last month.
The confirmed patient taught a class at 2X Fitness Gwanak branch (80 Seonghyeon-ro) around 11 a.m. on February 24. She visited a convenience store located in Miseong-dong at approximately 5:37 p.m. on March 1, but no contacts were confirmed.
She was tested at a screening clinic in a hospital in Gangneung City on March 6, and on March 8, she received a positive diagnosis and was transferred to a government-designated hospital.
Gwanak-gu completed thorough disinfection of the places visited by the confirmed patient and the surrounding areas on the same day.
Additionally, four family members who were contacts all tested negative, and the district office notified three additional contacts to self-quarantine.

Park Jun-hee, mayor of Gwanak-gu, stated, “We will prioritize the lives and safety of our residents and make every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Please do not have excessive anxiety that threatens daily life, and we ask that you follow COVID-19 behavioral guidelines such as hand washing, wearing masks at all times, and practicing proper cough etiquette.”
