13 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases at Call Center in Guro-gu, Seoul... "153 More to Be Tested by the 10th" (Comprehensive)

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Thirteen confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in a cluster at a call center in Guro-gu, Seoul. Currently, only 54 out of 207 employees at the call center have been tested, so the number of confirmed cases is expected to rise.
At around 9 p.m. on the 9th, the Guro District Office announced on its website, "The workplace of a confirmed case (resident of Nowon-gu) diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 8th is a call center located on the 11th floor of the Korea Building in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu." It added, "A total of 207 people, including 148 call center employees and 59 trainees, have been placed under self-quarantine and the office has been closed. Emergency COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted on 54 people through the Guro District Public Health Center this morning, resulting in 13 positive cases (7 residents of Guro-gu)."
Guro-gu stated, "We plan to complete testing for the remaining 153 people at screening clinics in Guro-gu and their residential areas by tomorrow (the 10th)." It also said, "On the evening of the 9th, disinfection work was carried out throughout the Korea Building, and a full closure order was issued for office spaces from the 1st to the 12th floor of the building." It added, "From the morning, specimen tests will be conducted for visiting residents."
At 8:03 p.m. on the same day, the National Disaster and Safety Portal announced on its website, "(Guro District Office) Seven additional confirmed cases among residents in the district (working on the 11th floor of the Korea Building in Sindorim-dong) have been reported. Detailed information will be released later on the website, so please participate in the 'Pause Campaign'." This information was also sent via emergency text messages to residents of Guro-gu and neighboring areas.
