In the letter, President Lee stated, "To all the believers of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji, I inform you that for the believers infected with the COVID-19 virus and for the health of all believers, please grant us a healing medicine from God."
He continued, "We earnestly pray together in the name of Jesus," and added, "Let us definitely pray today."

A Shincheonji official explained the special letter to a media outlet, saying, "When pastors manage believers, they approach them from the standpoint of a faithful person based on the Bible," and "It is no different from the universal prayers offered by Buddhists, Protestants, and Catholics to Buddha or God."
