This measure aims to strengthen online marketing support, which has emerged as the only export support method in response to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and to further activate video consultations.
First, as demand for non-face-to-face marketing increases, KOTRA formed a dedicated task force by gathering personnel from each internal division to focus on non-face-to-face marketing. They are concentrating on digital exports, including not only video consultations but also innovation in online B2B infrastructure and business development, as well as expanding overseas direct sales channels based on B2C.
The number of video consultations has also significantly increased after three weeks. Currently, 222 consultations have been conducted between 165 domestic companies and 125 buyers. An additional 400 consultations have been confirmed for March. At the current pace, KOTRA expects to exceed its original goal of 1,000 consultations within three months and reach 2,000. Going forward, the focus will be on generating tangible results.
In fact, continuous video consultation effects are appearing in the innovative industry sector. When overseas business trips became impossible due to COVID-19, micro electric vehicle manufacturer Company D continued video consultations with a Russian state-owned company in the defense and advanced technology sector that it had been managing. As a result, during the fourth video consultation on the 6th, they agreed to export 10 electric vehicles within the first half of the year.
