Changwon City Wins 'Grand Prize' for Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation Two Years in a Row
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City announced on the 9th that it was selected as the 'Grand Prize' institution, ranked first overall for two consecutive years in the Gyeongsangnam-do '2020 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation,' receiving a commendation and 300 million KRW in adjustment grants.
This evaluation was conducted across 23 items in 8 areas including local tax imposition and collection, arrears management, tax audits, local tax reviews, non-tax revenue, local income tax, and general tax administration in 18 cities and counties of Gyeongnam during 2019.
The city received high scores in all areas such as local tax imposition and collection, tax base discovery, arrears management, and tax audits, earning the grand prize for two consecutive years.
Changwon City resolved tax concerns of local small business owners and citizens through regular operation of Village Tax Accountant Day and the Taxpayer Protection Officer system, and improved the quality of tax administration services by proposing various local tax policies to reform unreasonable tax systems.
