[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 9th, Kang Min-seok of the Blue House announced, "President Moon Jae-in today has carried out personnel appointments for the Presidential Secretariat's Economic Advisor, the Chairperson of the National Balanced Development Committee, and a member of the Central Election Commission," adding, "Professor Park Bok-young of Kyung Hee University's Graduate School of International Studies is scheduled to be appointed as the Presidential Secretariat's Economic Advisor."
Professor Kim Sa-yeol of the Department of Life Sciences at Kyungpook National University is expected to be appointed as the Chairperson of the National Balanced Development Committee. Lawyer Jung Eun-sook of the law firm Surun Asia has been nominated as a member of the Central Election Commission. The nominee for the Central Election Commission member will be appointed after a confirmation hearing.
Park Bok-young, the Presidential Secretariat's Economic Advisor, is an expert in the field of foreign trade, having served as a senior research fellow at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and currently serving as a professor at Kyung Hee University's Graduate School of International Studies.
Spokesperson Kang said, "Based on the expertise and experience cultivated through activities at national research institutes, universities, and various government committees, as well as a deep understanding of the Moon Jae-in administration's national philosophy, it is expected that he will contribute to presidential advice on the overall economy and the achievement of outcomes in the New Southern and New Northern policies."
