Hyundai Department Store, First in Retail Industry to Launch Baek Naver 'Live Commerce'
Every Wednesday at 9 PM, 'Baekhwajeom Window Live' Broadcast
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Hyundai Department Store is partnering with Naver to launch a ‘live commerce’ channel. This service introduces and sells department store products through real-time videos on Naver Shopping, combining the advantages of both online and offline to provide customers with a new shopping experience.
Hyundai Department Store announced on the 8th that it will officially launch Naver’s ‘Department Store Window Live’ service on the 11th, which introduces products in real time at offline stores and sells them through online and mobile platforms. This is the first time in the distribution industry that a live commerce channel is being introduced on Naver.
Since it is based on online and mobile platforms, it allows real-time communication with customers through a chat window, similar to social network service (SNS) live broadcasts provided on YouTube and Instagram. In particular, store sales staff and famous influencers will introduce products together so that customers can hear detailed explanations about the products. Customers can also purchase department store products in real time while watching the live video.
Hyundai Department Store plans to hold the live broadcasts every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on the special section ‘Department Store Window Live’ within Naver Shopping. The first live commerce event is scheduled for the 11th featuring the men’s clothing brand Ziek. Customers can watch the live video by accessing Naver Department Store Window Live at that time, and can also use the video viewing alarm service on the page.
Earlier, Hyundai Department Store conducted a test live video of CC Collect’s spring new products at the Trade Center branch on the 19th of last month, receiving positive responses. A Hyundai Department Store official explained, “During the approximately 40-minute live video, more than 10,000 customers connected and sales reached 15 million won,” adding, “This is equivalent to the average sales of the young casual product category brands at the Trade Center branch over 10 days.”
