View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported at Camp Humphreys, a U.S. military base located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, where the United States Forces Korea (USFK) headquarters is situated.
On the 6th, the USFK announced, "A Korean worker employed by the USFK tested positive for COVID-19." The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among USFK personnel has risen to seven.
The confirmed case is a Korean female worker at Camp Humphreys who is currently isolated in off-base accommodation in Cheonan, Chungnam, following the instructions of health authorities.
The confirmed individual visited a cafe and the PX (post exchange) inside Camp Humphreys on the 26th of last month. On the 5th of this month, she entered the Camp Humphreys office and worked until 1 p.m. Currently, contacts including cafe employees have been placed under quarantine.

Health authorities and the USFK are conducting an epidemiological investigation to determine if there were other contacts with the confirmed individual.
