Democratic Party Gwangju Seo-gu Gap City and District Council Members Roll Up Sleeves for Yangdong Market Disinfection
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Democratic Party city and district council members from Seo-gu (Gap) area in Gwangju Metropolitan City rolled up their sleeves to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19 around the century-old Yangdong Market area and the covered shopping malls.
According to Seo-gu Council on the 6th, the disinfection work included participation from Jang Jaesung, Vice Chairman of Gwangju Metropolitan Council; Kim Taeyoung, Vice Chairman of Seo-gu Council; Jeon Seungil, Chairman of the Social City Committee; and Moon Sangsik, Chairman of the Yangdong Merchants Association.
Starting from the Yangdong Covered Shopping Mall, they conducted thorough disinfection throughout the market, including the underground parking lot, above-ground parking lot, and nearby neighborhood parks.
Merchant A said, "With COVID-19 spreading nationwide, residents who use the existing shopping malls have been feeling a lot of anxiety," adding, "The voluntary disinfection efforts by city and district council members provide great support to citizens facing difficulties."
