Gwangju City Extends Additional Reduction in City Bus Operations Until the 22nd
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it will extend the reduction in the number of city buses during the winter vacation, which was scheduled until the 8th, by an additional two weeks until the 22nd due to the two-week further delay in the start of elementary, middle, and high schools to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Considering the trend of decreased passengers during the winter vacation period, the city has been operating 878 city buses on 101 routes on weekdays since January 1st, reducing the number of buses from the original 999 to 121 fewer buses.
Although the number of passengers has decreased due to the additional delay in school openings and the impact of COVID-19, the city plans to maintain the current level of reduced bus operations during the vacation to minimize inconvenience to citizens.
