Gwacheon Jisik Information Town Knowledge-Based Industrial Site, Second Phase of Sale Begins
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Gwacheon City and Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation announced on the 6th that they will begin the sale of remaining knowledge-based industrial sites located within the Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town Public Housing District (total area of 1,353,090㎡) in the Galhyeon and Munwon-dong areas of Gwacheon City, Gyeonggi Province, on the 30th.
This sale is the second following the first sale in 2017. Through this sale, six sites totaling 44,678㎡ will be supplied. In the first sale, 77 advanced companies ranging from online-based firms such as Netmarble and Gabia to bio-industry companies including JW Choongwae Holdings, Kolon Global, and KOTITI Testing & Research Institute confirmed their move-in.
Gwacheon City plans to restructure the city's industrial structure into a Fourth Industrial Revolution-friendly city through the development of the Knowledge Information Town, while achieving regional development through the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this end, it intends to actively support research and development (R&D) industries that can enhance national competitiveness in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT, Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and Korea Communications Commission, all located within the region.
Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town is evaluated as an industrial site with high proximity between residence and workplace, developed together with a large-scale residential complex public housing district. Additionally, more than 25% of the Knowledge Information Town area is composed of parks and green spaces, making it an eco-friendly complex.

Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation plans to announce the sale on the 30th and receive letters of intent from companies wishing to move in during the following month. Subsequently, business plans from each company will be received and evaluated by the end of June, and the priority negotiation candidates will be finalized by the review committee in July. The final sales contracts will be signed through negotiations thereafter.
