Kim Kwangsoo, NH Financial Group Chairman, Transforms into Bank Teller 'Daily Consultant'
Listening to the On-Site Voices of COVID-19 Affected Self-Employed and Small Businesses... Guidance on Practical Financial Support Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] "These days, your store sales have dropped a lot due to COVID-19, right? I will guide you through emergency loans for working capital procurement."
Kim Kwangsoo, Chairman of NH Nonghyup Financial Group, transformed into a 'one-day counselor' at a bank counter. This was to vividly listen to the voices of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to provide more practical financial support that can be felt on-site.
According to Nonghyup Financial on the 6th, Chairman Kim worked as a one-day counselor at the 'COVID-19 Affected Companies Exclusive Consultation Counter' at the Nonghyup Bank headquarters sales department located in Jung-gu, Seoul, the day before.
Since the 2nd, Nonghyup Bank has been operating exclusive consultation counters for COVID-19 affected companies at each branch. Chairman Kim, who personally conducted consultations the day before, listened to the opinions of affected companies on-site and activated the consultation counter so that more companies could receive support.
Transforming into a one-day counselor, Chairman Kim met with the representative of a nearby restaurant at the counter, explained the financial support measures implemented by Nonghyup Bank, and guided them on loan maturity extension procedures and interest rate reduction benefits.
After completing the one-day consultation activities, Chairman Kim said, "The difficulties faced by small business owners and companies affected by COVID-19 are the difficulties and pains of all of us," adding, "We will focus all means and resources that Nonghyup Financial can provide to support overcoming this national crisis."
Meanwhile, Nonghyup Financial has prepared emergency funds worth 600 billion KRW to support loans in order to share the damage and pain throughout the local community caused by the spread of COVID-19. They are also providing new loan support (up to 100 million KRW per individual and 500 million KRW per SME) and deferral of existing loan interest and installment payments. Additionally, to establish a rapid credit support system, a 'Rapid Credit Support Team' is operating at the central headquarters, and 'Exclusive Consultation Counters for Affected Companies' are operating at branches.
