TmaxSoft Co., Ltd. is the only domestic AI and cloud specialized company that has secured core technologies of the three major system software: middleware, database, and operating systems. It is enhancing its status as a global IT company through AI and cloud integrated platforms and services.
Through this business agreement, TmaxSoft plans to establish an AI-specialized research and development (R&D) focused technology center in Gwangju based on 25 years of software (SW) core technology development experience, and actively engage in fostering AI-related professionals and creating jobs.
The main agreement contents include ▲ Establishing an AI Technology Development Center in the Gwangju area ▲ Supporting the training of professionals in specialized fields such as database construction and software development ▲ Providing technical and policy advice related to the creation of the Gwangju AI industrial complex and business platform ▲ Supporting startups and job creation through commercialization of AI-based products and services.
TmaxSoft plans to establish an office with about 15 employees in Gwangju early next month, and in May, it will hold a recruitment briefing session in Gwangju to select about 300 software (SW) professionals over the next two years.
Gwangju City, following the agreement on the establishment of the National Security Research Institute’s Gwangju regional office on the 17th of last month and the attraction of IEEE’s AI Standards Research Institute on the 19th, expects that this agreement will accelerate the attraction of leading AI-related companies specializing in big data analysis and software development to Gwangju, thereby kickstarting the movement of related institutions and companies toward ‘Gwangju AI ecosystem creation.’
Park Dae-yeon, Chairman of TmaxSoft, said, “The transformation of the 4th Industrial Revolution era will be determined by AI, and TmaxSoft possesses outstanding AI-based core technologies globally through intensive R&D,” adding, “I hope this cooperation project with Gwangju City will not remain symbolic but become a successful model for AI business that spreads nationwide.”
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “In the 4th Industrial Revolution era, AI is a core element of national competitiveness, and Gwangju dreams of a world-class AI ecosystem,” adding, “Through this business agreement, TmaxSoft’s core technologies and platform, as well as the infrastructure construction such as the AI-based technology R&D center to be promoted in the future, are expected to be a strong driving force in realizing Gwangju as an AI-centered city.”
