Seungbae Kim, CEO of Fides Development, Elected as the 5th President of the Korea Real Estate Development Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Real Estate Development Association (KODA) announced on the 5th that at the 12th regular general meeting held at the association hall on Teheran-ro, Seoul, Kim Seung-bae, CEO of Fides Development, was appointed as the 5th president. His term will be three years starting from the 6th.
President Kim graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Architecture and served as director of the housing business division at Daewoo Construction before founding Fides Development in 2004. Since 2009, he has served as the senior vice president of the Real Estate Development Association, representing the industry's interests.
President Kim stated, "The industry is facing more difficulties and uncertainties than ever due to COVID-19, government real estate regulatory policies, and changes brought by the 4th Industrial Revolution era," adding, "I will strive to create conditions that overcome these challenges and enable the industry to grow to the next level." He further added, "As a developer responsible not only for the real estate development industry but also for national economic development, I will dedicate myself to fulfilling our responsibilities and roles and enhancing competitiveness so that the real estate development industry can advance to the level of developed countries."

He outlined the association’s key initiatives as ▲ continuous recruitment of new members and strengthening member services ▲ promoting stable operation and establishment of the real estate development business system ▲ smooth operation of statutory entrusted tasks such as real estate development business registration ▲ faithfully fulfilling the role as a comprehensive management institution for real estate development professionals. As a mid- to long-term plan preparing for the future, he plans to establish an affiliated Real Estate Development Research Institute and the KODA Scholarship Foundation to improve various systems for promoting development projects, respond to future real estate development environments, support developers facing difficulties, and foster talent.
