Ulsan Police Arrest Gang for Mass Distribution of Fake KF94 Masks
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A group distributing uncertified counterfeit masks in the market has been apprehended by the police.
On the 5th, the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they have booked three individuals, including mask seller A (41), and two brokers, including B (25), on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
They are suspected of posting advertisements in an SNS open chat room last month stating "Buying and selling masks in bulk" and supplying masks to sellers. These masks were uncertified products without labels indicating product name, expiration date, or effectiveness.
The sellers are accused of storing the masks purchased from the brokers in warehouses around Guro-gu, Seoul, and distributing them in the market by falsely representing them as genuine KF94 masks at 2,250 won per piece. The police seized 21,000 masks at the scene and are tracking down other suppliers who provided masks in bulk to the brokers.
