Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance Donates 400 Million KRW for COVID-19 Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 5th that it has donated 400 million won in relief funds to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and support victims.
The funds will be used to provide quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers for medical staff in disaster areas, those in self-quarantine, and marginalized groups, as well as food and daily necessities kits to minimize daily inconveniences.
Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance will also implement prompt insurance claim payments, insurance policy loans, and premium payment deferrals to share the burden and overcome damages caused by the spread of COVID-19. Claims for long-term and automobile insurance from customers in affected areas such as Daegu and Gyeongbuk will be prioritized for rapid review and payment. For customers confirmed with COVID-19, premium payments will be deferred for six months, and insurance policy loans will be promptly provided.
