Yongsan-gu Also Breached... First COVID-19 Confirmed Case Reported

Resident A (49, female) of Bogwang-dong confirmed positive on the night of the 4th around 10 PM... Reportedly had contact with Seongbuk-gu confirmed case (#4558) from March 2, a workplace colleague

On the 5th, Mayor Seongjanghyun is presiding over an emergency countermeasure meeting in the policy conference room of Yongsan District Office.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seongjang Hyun) has reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19.

The confirmed patient is resident A (49, female) from Bogwang-dong, who received the final positive diagnosis around 10 PM on the 4th. A is an office worker in Gangnam-gu and is known to have come into contact with a confirmed case (#4558) from Seongbuk-gu confirmed on March 2.

A was notified of self-quarantine from March 2 to March 12 and visited the Yongsan-gu screening clinic at 3:25 PM on the 3rd for testing, then returned home on foot. On the 4th, a retest confirmed positive, and she is scheduled to be admitted to the intensive care unit at a nationally designated hospital (Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital) on the afternoon of the 5th.

The district completed specimen collection from the confirmed patient's family (husband and two children) on the morning of the 5th and instructed them to self-quarantine for two weeks.

The confirmed movements identified so far are as follows.

- 8:20 AM to 9:00 AM: Commute to workplace in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu (using bus #421)

- 6:00 PM: Left work (by taxi)

- 7:00 PM: KFC Hannam Soonchunhyang branch

- 7:30 PM: Admission to Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital (for chronic illness)

▣ February 29 (Saturday)

- 5:10 PM: Discharged from Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital (by taxi)

- 5:30 PM: Wangko Deunggalbi in Bogwang-dong

- 6:30 PM: Bogwang Discount Mart

- 7:30 PM: Home

▣ March 1 (Sunday): Home

▣ March 2 (Monday): Home (self-quarantine notice until 3/12)

▣ March 3 (Tuesday)

- 3:00 PM to 3:25 PM: Visited Yongsan-gu screening clinic, specimen collected, returned home on foot

The district is conducting disinfection along A’s visited locations and will identify additional contacts and instruct them to self-quarantine.
