Mokpo Police Conduct COVID-19 Prevention Campaign Targeting Foreign Residents
COVID-19 Testing for Undocumented Foreigners: 'No Deportation' Notice Provided
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Mokpo Police Station in Jeonnam announced on the 5th that it is promoting COVID-19 prevention measures for foreign residents through various methods, including providing "prevention guidelines" in nine foreign languages.
To this end, the "prevention guidelines" translated into nine languages, including Chinese and Vietnamese, were posted at foreigner help centers and areas with high concentrations of foreigners, and shared through foreign resident community SNS to encourage active participation by foreigners in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, to encourage suspected illegal foreign residents to undergo testing, the "Notification Obligation Exemption System" for illegal residents was also introduced.
The "Notification Obligation Exemption System" exempts the obligation to notify immigration authorities of the personal information of illegal residents who undergo COVID-19 suspected testing at public health medical institutions, according to Article 92-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Immigration Control Act (Exemption from Notification Obligation).
