President Moon Presents Letter of Appointment to Newly Appointed Supreme Court Justice No Tae-ak
President Moon Jae-in Presents Appointment Letters to Kim Hong-hee, Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, and Im Chan-woo, Auditor of the Board of Audit and Inspection
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 5th, President Moon Jae-in presented the letter of appointment to newly appointed Supreme Court Justice No Tae-ak at the Blue House. Kim Hong-hee, Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, and Im Chan-woo, Audit Committee Member of the Board of Audit and Inspection, also received their letters of appointment from President Moon.
The letter of appointment ceremony at the Blue House was attended by Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo along with Justice No Tae-ak and his spouse. Also present at the Blue House were Chief Presidential Secretary Noh Young-min, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Kim Jo-won, Senior Secretary for Personnel Affairs Kim Oe-sook, and spokesperson Kang Min-seok.
Justice No Tae-ak is the successor to former Supreme Court Justice Cho Hee-dae. Earlier, Chief Justice Kim had selected Justice No as the final candidate among four nominees recommended by the Supreme Court Justice Recommendation Committee and proposed his appointment to President Moon.
Meanwhile, Kim Hong-hee, who received his letter of appointment from President Moon, is the first Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard since the enforcement of the Korea Coast Guard Act. Blue House spokesperson Kang Min-seok explained, "Kim Hong-hee, the new Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, is the first commissioner from the Coast Guard since the enforcement of the Korea Coast Guard Act in February this year," adding, "He possesses extensive field experience and expertise in maritime security."

New Audit Committee Member Im Chan-woo was appointed upon the recommendation of Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung to President Moon. He is from Daegu, graduated from Daegu Seonggwang High School and Seoul National University. He passed the 32nd Administrative Examination and has served as Policy Analyst and Director of the Social Coordination Office at the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
