Gokseong-gun Achieves Success with Selection of 3 Villages in Saetteul Village Contest Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 5th that it applied for the 2020 Rural Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Saetteul Village Project’) with Geunchon Village in Samgi-myeon, Daesa Village in Godal-myeon, and Chilbong Village in Gyeom-myeon, and all three villages were selected.
The Saetteul Village Project is promoted under the supervision of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development to ensure the basic living standards of residents in vulnerable areas. It mainly supports the expansion of living infrastructure such as safety and sanitation, improvement of residential environments, and strengthening of residents' capabilities.
This project was finally selected on the 4th after the first evaluation by Jeollanam-do on January 20 and the second face-to-face evaluation hosted by the Balanced National Development Committee on February 20. As a result, following Hahan Village in Jukgok-myeon and Cheongdan Village in Osan-myeon in 2019, three villages were selected again this year, achieving a great success.
About 5 billion KRW will be invested over the next three years in the three selected villages to renovate old houses, village roads, village halls, fences, and landscape facilities. In addition, human care and resident capacity-building projects providing cultural and welfare programs will also be implemented.
