eBay Korea "Get 'OPIc' Discount with SmilePay"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] eBay Korea is conducting a cashback event with partners such as 'Kyobo Hottracks' and 'Aladin' through its simple payment service 'SmilePay' until the 15th.
If you complete payments with SmilePay at three of the SmilePay event partner stores, you will automatically earn SmileCash 2020, and if you certify your use of SmilePay on Instagram with the required hashtags, you will be entered into a draw to receive up to 500,000 SmileCash.
Until the 31st, when paying with SmilePay for the foreign language speaking evaluation test 'OPIc', a 2,000 KRW instant discount coupon is provided, and an additional 5,000 KRW instant discount benefit is offered once per ID for payments over 70,000 KRW.
Launched in 2014, SmilePay has expanded its usage not only on Gmarket, Auction, and G9 but also across a wide range of online and offline merchants including marts, dining, fashion, and travel. In November last year, it became the first simple payment service to start on OPIc, entering the education and language brand sectors.
Meanwhile, according to Gmarket on the 5th, sales of e-books and e-education products increased by 204% and 181% respectively compared to the same period last year during the recent month (February 2 to March 3).
This is interpreted as a result of increased demand from parents wanting to fill the learning gap at home due to the postponement of kindergarten and elementary, middle, and high school openings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Job seekers and office workers engaged in self-development activities have also increasingly sought non-face-to-face learning products such as e-education.
