'Gyeonggi VR·AR Production Hub Center' to be Established in Suwon Gwanggyo
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 'Gyeonggi VR·AR Production Hub Center' will be established within this year at the Gwanggyo Business Center in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it was finally selected in a project competition hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and will receive support for the entire process from content production to commercialization, including equipment and space infrastructure necessary for VR·AR (Virtual/Augmented Reality) content development.
The center, built with a combined national and provincial budget of 2.95 billion KRW, will operate as a fixed center at the Gwanggyo hub and a mobile center capable of traveling anywhere within the province, such as northern and western Gyeonggi.

Through this, the province plans to expand support in related fields and, together with the Gyeonggi Content Agency, newly promote convergence service projects that apply VR·AR technology to the distribution industry, such as VR shopping and AR product display.
