Venture Industry Faces 'COVID-19' with Domestic Technology
Sterapy launches 'Virus Fighter', a disinfection service maintaining sterilization effect for 1 month after quarantine
Glotech offers free workplace video conferencing solution to prevent disaster situation spread
Bolt Creation develops Korea's first transparent polymer mask filter
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] As the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is spreading rapidly and the government, medical community, and local governments are making every effort to overcome the national emergency, domestic venture companies are also fighting COVID-19 by utilizing their respective technologies.
Sterapy has launched a COVID-19 dedicated disinfection service through its infection control specialized brand 'Virus Fighter' and is responding to disinfection efforts. This service is divided into prevention and disinfection, with the prevention solution further categorized into space disinfection and antimicrobial disinfection. In particular, antimicrobial disinfection prevents the COVID-19 virus from settling on surfaces through preventive application. This service is helpful for workplaces where indirect contact infection is a concern rather than direct droplet infection. The antimicrobial agent, which is harmless to the human body, retains its antimicrobial effect for about one month unless some of it is damaged by friction after application. Lee Seung-jae, CEO of Sterapy, stated, "The damage caused by COVID-19 is not limited to primary economic and social losses. Anxiety about living spaces can also lead to economic contraction," adding, "We hope that Virus Fighter's disinfection service will help curb the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the damage to the people of the Republic of Korea, even if only a little."
In the situation where telecommuting has increased, the venture company Glotech, which supplies video conferencing solutions, is providing its video conferencing solution 'ICUC' free of charge temporarily until the disaster situation is lifted. This service offers various functions including video sharing, PC desktop sharing, on-site video sharing via smartphones, and remote control. Hwang Hee-seok, CEO of Glotech, said, "As the domestic business environment worsens day by day due to the COVID-19 crisis, we hope our solution can be of some help in various business situations."

Bolt Creation has succeeded in developing a polymer filter that is lightweight, breathable, and capable of blocking fine dust and pollen. Commercially available masks are made of thick nonwoven fabric, which can feel suffocating to breathe through, but the polymer filter is lightweight without thickness, enhances breathability, and is harmless to the human body. Choi Sang-jun, CEO of Bolt Creation, said, "With this filter development achievement, it has become possible to produce ultra-light transparent fine dust masks," adding, "We plan to produce and release masks that not only block fine dust but also have the function of blocking droplet infection of pathogens to the market."
