Gwangyang City Council Opens the 286th Extraordinary Session
Deliberation and Resolution of Proposed Ordinances and Other Agenda Items by Assembly Members
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Gwangyang City Council in Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it will open the 286th extraordinary session for a period of seven days from the 5th to the 11th.
First, at the 1st plenary session on the 5th, the session schedule will be decided, followed by five days of standing committee activities from the 6th to the 10th, and on the 11th, the 2nd plenary session will be held to vote on the submitted agenda items.
The agenda items to be reviewed at this extraordinary session include a total of eight items, including seven items such as the "Ordinance for the Promotion of Traffic Safety in Gwangyang City" proposed by Representative Park Mallye, the "Plan for the Installation of Public Facilities (Gwangyang Bay Area Materials and Components Knowledge Industry Center)" submitted by the Mayor of Gwangyang, the "Ordinance on the Operation of Active Administration in Gwangyang City," the "Partial Amendment to the Basic Ordinance on Gwangyang City Taxation," the "Ordinance on the Creation and Support of Cultural Cities in Gwangyang," the "Partial Amendment to the Urban Planning Ordinance of Gwangyang City," the "Plan for the Change of Installation of Public Facilities (Gwangyang Chilseong Happy Housing)," and the "Hearing on Opinions Regarding Changes to the Gwangyang Urban Management Plan (Land Use Zones, etc.)," which will be reviewed according to the agenda of the relevant standing committees.

The originally scheduled questions and answers regarding city administration have been tentatively postponed to the May session. This is intended to support the executive branch to focus administrative efforts on preventing the spread of COVID-19 and to avoid situations where many public officials attend the plenary session hall all at once during the city administration question period.
