[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun gave an urgent order on the 4th to "do their best to rescue survivors and search for missing persons" regarding the fishing boat fire accident that occurred near Udo, Jeju.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that Prime Minister Chung instructed, "The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries and the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard should immediately dispatch all available vessels, aircraft, and rescue teams, and mobilize all fishing boats, merchant ships, and government vessels operating around the accident area to do their best to rescue survivors and search for missing persons."
He also ordered, "The Minister of National Defense should support the Coast Guard's rescue operations as much as possible by providing flares and deploying warships and aircraft to ensure smooth nighttime search operations."
