Busan Sincheonji Church Members with COVID-19 Symptoms Total 272
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jonghyo] The number of Shincheonji Church of Jesus members residing in Busan showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has increased by 15, bringing the total to 272.
On the 2nd, Busan City held a press conference at Busan City Hall and announced that the number of symptomatic Shincheonji members in the region increased by 15 from the previous day to 272, while the number of asymptomatic members was 16,208.
Among the 272 Shincheonji members reporting COVID-19 symptoms, 146 were tested and all received negative results. The remaining members will be tested later.
On that day, out of the total 16,838 Shincheonji members in the Busan area, the number of members who could not be contacted and whose investigation was incomplete was 354, down by 276 from 630 the previous day.
The city requested the police to locate 247 of these members. The remaining 107 are being continuously monitored with attempts to reconnect.
Additionally, investigations are ongoing for 645 members whose names differ between the list obtained from the Shincheonji organization and the list received from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
