On the day, Prime Minister Chung visited the Daegu 1 Residential Treatment Center set up at the Daegu Dong-gu Central Education Training Institute and said, "It was truly heartbreaking that many citizens who tested positive were waiting without receiving inpatient treatment, but with the measures prepared yesterday, we are able to accommodate them starting today, which is somewhat fortunate."
The government prepared a 'Treatment System Reconstruction Plan' as a countermeasure against the regional spread of COVID-19 the previous day and decided that mild patients will be treated at residential treatment centers established in the region. Severe patients will continue to receive inpatient treatment as before.
Prime Minister Chung expressed gratitude, saying, "I appreciate the quick establishment of facilities and well-prepared personnel to meet the new needs," and added, "With medical services supported by Kyungpook National University Hospital, it is expected that confirmed patients will be able to overcome COVID-19."
The Daegu 1 Residential Treatment Center is staffed with 23 medical personnel, including 4 doctors, 9 nurses, and 5 nursing assistants.
Later, Prime Minister Chung visited the accommodation for the operation support team and urged, "Please manage thoroughly to ensure that none of you experience any health issues, and assist with pride."
