Incheon Public Sector Construction Projects 2,065 Cases Worth 5 Trillion Won Issued... 47% Increase from Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The value of public sector construction project orders in the Incheon area is expected to reach around 5 trillion won this year.
Incheon City announced that the total order amount from 50 institutions including city-affiliated organizations, the Office of Education, and state-owned enterprises will be 5.0198 trillion won for 2,066 projects, an increase of 1.6105 trillion won (47.2%) compared to last year.
The city has disclosed this '2020 Construction Project Order Plan' on its website.
By institution, Incheon City and its affiliated organizations, as well as the Office of Education, will undertake 1,849 projects worth 2.3384 trillion won, including the Yeongjong~Sindo Peace Road Construction Project (124.9 billion won), Incheon Urban Railway Line 1 Geomdan Extension Section 2~4 Construction Project (366 billion won), Susan Water Purification Plant Advanced Water Treatment Facility Construction (69.8 billion won), and Geomdan 5 Elementary School New Construction (25.7 billion won).
State-owned enterprises issuing orders in the Incheon area will see an increase of 1.4997 trillion won from last year, totaling 2.6813 trillion won for 217 projects, including Incheon International Airport Corporation with 2.0141 trillion won (59 projects) and Incheon Port Authority with 491.5 billion won (30 projects).

An official from Incheon City stated, "Although the spread of COVID-19 is expected to significantly impact the safety conditions for construction site workers and the construction market, we have analyzed the data by institution, project cost, and quarter to assist local construction companies and have published it on the city’s website."
