The court judged that the police's measure to ban assemblies in downtown Seoul due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was justified.
According to the court's decision, the Gwanghwamun assembly organized by the March 1st Movement Moon Jae-in Resignation National Struggle Headquarters (Beomtu-bon) will not be permitted. The Korea Restoration National Movement Headquarters is the name that the Moon Jae-in Resignation National Struggle Headquarters (Beomtu-bon) has used when reporting assemblies to the police.
Earlier, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency notified Beomtu-bon that assemblies would be prohibited around Seoul Station, Gwanghwamun Square, and the Blue House area to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, Beomtu-bon filed a lawsuit and a request for suspension of execution with the court, asking for the cancellation of this prohibition.
