On the 27th, the Federation's headquarters (Co-Executive Director and President Kim Dae-in) selected 75 recipients of the Legislative Service Award based on a strict collection, analysis, and evaluation of data on the legislative activities of the 20th National Assembly members by evaluation criteria.
According to the Federation's press release, the evaluation criteria for the 20th National Assembly members' legislative activities excluded political tendencies of ruling and opposition parties and objectively quantified 12 indicators: ▲attendance at plenary sessions ▲attendance at standing committee meetings ▲participation in bill voting ▲performance in proposing passed representative bills ▲performance in proposing passed co-sponsored bills ▲attendance at on-site national audits ▲excellence in national audits ▲additional points for government questioning ▲activities in the special committee on budget and accounts ▲deductions in the ethics special committee ▲activities in ad hoc special committees ▲activities in standing committee subcommittees, to select outstanding lawmakers.
Representative Hwang Ju-hong, selected as a recipient of the Legislative Service Award, was analyzed to have recorded outstanding scores in the fields of bill proposal performance, attendance at on-site national audits, and excellence in national audits.
In particular, Representative Hwang proposed 696 bills as the main sponsor, with 186 of these bills passed, achieving the highest number of bill proposals and the highest number of passed bills among National Assembly members.
Representative Hwang Ju-hong expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am very pleased to receive the Legislative Service Award evaluating four years of legislative activities,” and self-assessed, “I believe this is the result of my efforts to realize a non-confrontational National Assembly while serving as the chairman representing farmers and fishermen on the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee.”
Meanwhile, having completed his preliminary candidate registration yesterday, Representative Hwang asked for support and encouragement from local voters, saying, “I want to contribute the positive power of a three-term National Assembly member to the farmers and fishermen, the residents of Goheung·Boseong·Jangheung·Gangjin counties, and the development of Honam.”
