Hyundai Heavy Industries Donates 1.2 Billion KRW to Overcome COVID-19 Crisis
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hyundai Heavy Industries Group has stepped up to provide support to minimize damage caused by the spread of COVID-19.
On the 27th, Hyundai Heavy Industries Group announced that it donated 1 billion KRW to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association through the Group 1% Sharing Foundation, and separately, Hyundai Robotics (Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings Robot Business Division), headquartered in Daegu, also donated 200 million KRW to the association to be used in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.
The Hyundai Heavy Industries Group 1% Sharing Foundation was established earlier this year through the donation of 1% of the salaries of group company employees.
Kwon Oh-gap, Chairman of the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group 1% Sharing Foundation, said, "Especially in times like these, we must share pain and unite our strength to overcome the crisis," adding, "We hope that the donations made through employees' salary sharing will provide support to those suffering from this situation."
Seo Yoo-sung, Vice President of Hyundai Robotics, also said, "As a company headquartered in Daegu, we hope to be a small help to the local community in overcoming the current crisis."
