Hwang Gyu-hwan, deputy spokesperson of the United Party, criticized on the 26th through a statement, saying, "The ruling party, which should be embracing the pain and anger, is blinded by loyalty to the president and is consistently making absurd perceptions of reality and reckless remarks."
Deputy spokesperson Hwang criticized Park Kwang-on, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, who said at the Supreme Council meeting that "the increase in confirmed cases paradoxically means that Korea's national system is functioning properly," calling it "nonsense." Regarding Park's comment that "community infections increased because basic rules were not followed," he pointed out that it sounded like blaming the people for the current situation.
Hwang also said, "Supreme Council member Lee Su-jin jumped into the loyalty competition by saying, 'Health experts are praising the Korean health authorities' COVID-19 testing and handling methods,' and yesterday, the election campaign spokesperson Hyun Geun-taek appeared on a broadcast and said, 'It is excessive. Masks are sufficiently available. There has never been a time when you couldn't buy them in our neighborhood,'" adding, "while they compete in loyalty, the people are shedding tears of blood."
Earlier, Lee Man-hee, the party's floor spokesperson, also pointed out, "They prohibited the use of the term 'Wuhan pneumonia,' then officially called it 'Daegu COVID' in government data, and after meetings between the Blue House, the Democratic Party, and high-ranking government officials, they explained that Daegu and Gyeongbuk would be maximally sealed off, using administrative power to some extent for movement restrictions," adding, "Although they later explained it was a mistake after controversy arose, there is a fundamental problem with their perception."

Referring to remarks made on YouTube by Yoo Si-min, director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, he said, "A pro-ruling party figure, even considered a presidential candidate, criticized the mayor of Daegu and the governor of Gyeongbuk, who are fighting a difficult frontline battle against Wuhan coronavirus," and condemned, "'Because they belong to the conservative party, it seems they have no intention of helping but rather want to undermine government trust ahead of the general election,' is an utterly disgraceful and outrageous remark that should never be uttered."
