Gangbuk-gu Strengthens On-Site Response System for COVID-19
Expansion of Dedicated Management System for Self-Quarantined Individuals, Disinfection and Closure of Shincheonji Suspected Facilities... Focused Disinfection Activities at High-Risk Multi-Use Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Park Kyum-soo) held a COVID-19 progress briefing on the 20th in response to the rapid spread of the infectious disease in the local community, deciding to strengthen the on-site response system.
First, the district decided to establish a dedicated self-quarantine team within the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters. The purpose is to strengthen infectious disease management by expanding the dedicated management system for self-quarantined individuals. The one-on-one monitoring duties for quarantine subjects previously handled by the medical quarantine team have been transferred to the Disaster and Safety Department, allowing the quarantine team to focus on field activities.
The dedicated team is responsible not only for close monitoring and managing unauthorized departures but also for receiving medicines and delivering daily necessities to those in quarantine. Since they are restricted in their activities for 14 days from the date of contact, necessary supplies are provided accordingly. In cases where households face financial difficulties due to COVID-19, livelihood support is also available.
The number of public officials dedicated to managing quarantined individuals will be expanded from existing health center staff to all departments. The start date will be decided at the Countermeasures Headquarters meeting.
Additionally, on the 22nd, the district confirmed the closure of suspected Shincheonji-affiliated facilities in the area following an on-site inspection and is strengthening disinfection of surrounding facilities to prepare for any emergencies. The suspected facilities are located on the 2nd floor of Sehwa Building at 318 Insu-bong-ro and the 2nd floor of Seokwoo Building at 75 Deokneung-ro.
Thorough disinfection measures for vulnerable infectious disease facilities continue. The district, in cooperation with the Saemaeul Leaders Gangbuk-gu Council, has formed a mobile disinfection team and has disinfected 1,331 locations so far, including daycare centers, lodging businesses, bus stops, multi-use facilities, traditional markets, and children's parks.
Along with this, many public facilities frequently used by residents, such as welfare centers, senior citizen centers, Gangbuk Well-being Sports Center, Cultural Information Center, Childcare Support Center, Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center, and Veterans Hall, remain temporarily closed.
