Park Won-soon "Shincheonji List Must Be Secured Even Through Search and Seizure"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul, urged authorities on the 23rd to secure the list of Shincheonji Church members by any means to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the same day, Mayor Park wrote on his Facebook, "Due to the nature of Shincheonji, we cannot rely solely on the list they provide," and stated, "The government must use coercive measures such as raids on Shincheonji to secure the list of believers for a full investigation as soon as possible."
Mayor Park pointed out, "Seoul City received the list of 17 attendees from Seoul who participated in the Shincheonji worship in Daegu and completed tracking, but it is difficult to verify the accuracy of the list."
He emphasized, "There is a high possibility that they have contacted and interacted with other believers in Seoul," and added, "Securing the list of believers in the Seoul area is urgent. Shincheonji is said to have accurate information on the attendees of worship services. An accurate list is necessary for definite and swift action."
