Pocheon COVID-19 Confirmed Soldier Contacts 42 Including Unit Members
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] On the 22nd, it was confirmed that a soldier who tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, had contact with a total of 42 unit members.
On the same day, Gyeonggi Province and military authorities conducted an epidemiological investigation at the unit of soldier A, who tested positive, and identified 41 unit members who had contact with him. They were quarantined in a separate facility within the unit. A had taken leave to visit his family home in Daegu from the 10th to the 14th of this month.
The military authorities transferred the confirmed soldier to Seongnam Armed Forces Capital Hospital and placed the entire unit under "cohort isolation." Cohort isolation refers to the measure of grouping people exposed to a specific disease into the same cohort for quarantine.
The military completed disinfection inside and outside the unit in the afternoon and is currently monitoring the situation of the contacted unit members by deploying five epidemiological investigators.
