[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Former priest Kim Jongbong (52), who belonged to the Catholic Diocese of Masan and has been in conflict with novelist Gong Ji-young, has publicly demanded an apology from Gong. In response, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Gong on the 20th, saying, "She mistakes the novels she writes in her head for reality."
Professor Jin wrote on his Facebook that day, "The problem with Gong Ji-young is that she often confuses subjective fantasy with objective reality."
He continued, "It was the same during the Lee Jae-myung case and the recent Cho Kuk incident; she mistakes the novels she writes in her head for reality," adding, "It seems to be a very old habit."
He also said, "Because of that fantasy, an innocent person suffered for four years," and added, "(Because of writer Gong) a family was torn apart."
Regarding this, Professor Jin shared an article titled 'Former Catholic Priest Cleared of Charges in Gong Ji-young Donation Fraud Allegation.' The shared article contained content about former priest Kim publicly demanding an apology from Gong.
It is known that former priest Kim was acquitted in the recent appeal trial after undergoing a criminal trial for about four years due to Gong's malicious allegations.
Previously, in July 2015, Gong posted on her Facebook, "Former priest Kim was dismissed from the Catholic Diocese of Masan, so do not support him as a priest." She also raised suspicions that the fundraising money, which Kim had collected claiming it would be donated to the Miryang transmission tower, Ssangyong Motor, and comfort women grandmothers, was used for personal purposes, stating, "I confirmed that not a single penny was delivered."

In response, former priest Kim filed a defamation lawsuit against Gong at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office Masan Branch in the same month.
