30SHINE, Southeast Asia's Largest Chain Hair Salon Eyeing Entry into Korea
In an era where the world is connected through platforms like Instagram and Facebook, it has become common to see new overseas brands launching overnight and unfamiliar products quickly flooding social media. Amid this trend, one category rapidly rising worldwide is the ‘men’s grooming brand.’ Just as important as for women, men’s hairstyles are crucial for styling according to face shape, image, and the appropriate situation or place, even though men have relatively fewer means to manage their appearance.
Meanwhile, 30SHINE (CEO Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang), which operates 100 branches locally in Vietnam and has accumulated unique expertise through extensive on-site experience, is Southeast Asia’s largest men’s hair salon brand offering total male beauty services including haircuts and coloring with outstanding beauty techniques.
As the largest chain hair salon in Southeast Asia, 30SHINE employs a total of 3,000 staff across Vietnam and Thailand, with over 1,500 hair designers showcasing their skills. 30SHINE is recognized for creating a business model that combines fashion and technology through sophisticated hair design, something traditional hair salons have not achieved. Additionally, their app allows customers to easily select their preferred designer, make reservations, and even view reviews, providing a customer-centric service that has earned high praise. Especially, 30Shine’s signature service, the ‘Shine Combo,’ offers a haircut, facial and scalp massage, and simple skincare within 30 to 40 minutes for just 100,000 VND (about 5,000 KRW), making it perfectly suited for men.
30Shine has invested tens of millions of won solely in technology to complete the development of their application. Developed entirely from the customer’s perspective, this app not only allows customers to conveniently choose branches and hair designers and make reservations but also lets them view their hairstyle history through their own reviews. This feature reflects 30SHINE’s strong brand philosophy of delivering differentiated services that other men’s hair salons have yet to attempt.
As of 2019, 30Shine attracted 3.5 million customers and successfully expanded into Thailand in September last year. It has quickly gained thousands of customers and received favorable reviews. With professional investors from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore showing strong interest in 30SHINE, the brand is now exploring full-scale entry into the Korean market. Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, founder of 30SHINE, stated about the brand’s uniqueness, “Aiming to become a mega salon chain, we focus on recruitment and training to ensure we can boast the best IT systems equipped with innovative products, reservation services, and service quality. We always strive to provide the highest quality service to our customers and believe maintaining this is the fastest path to growth.”
