On that day, Hwang held a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly in the morning and said, "This is a serious crime that is impossible to defend, to the extent that professors from various fields, lawyers, civic groups, as well as pro-government figures and even concrete support groups have turned away."
He targeted by saying, "The prosecution says it will decide whether to indict the former Chief of Staff and the Civil Affairs Secretary after the general election. Are they intimidated by the pressure from this administration?" and "The superior of that Chief of Staff and the person ultimately responsible is President Moon." Hwang also emphasized, "The election manipulation, which is absolutely impossible without the president's direct orders, must be thoroughly investigated regarding President Moon's charges and actions," adding, "What use is slowing down in the face of election fraud? There are only two months left until the general election, and we do not know what meticulous evidence destruction or collusion might take place in the meantime."
He said, "President Moon's silence is an implicit admission of guilt. I remember the promise that if there were demands for President Moon's resignation protests, he would go out to the square to communicate and persuade directly," and added, "But now, is he going to endure the investigation by consistently feigning ignorance throughout the remaining term? The prosecution must investigate without sanctuary and, if necessary, also investigate the president's charges." Hwang urged, "Do not skirt around the surroundings; the root of election fraud must be uncovered. If the president is confident, he should respond to the investigation."
