View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Eugene Corporation announced on the 13th that it has obtained low-carbon product certification from the Ministry of Environment for three Ready-Mix Concrete (Remicon) specifications.
The certified products this time are the '25-27-150', '25-30-150', and '25-35-150' specifications. Remicon specifications are indicated in the order of maximum coarse aggregate size (mm) - strength (MPa) - slump (mm). With the certification of these three specifications, the company now holds environmental performance label certifications for five low-carbon products, including previously certified products, and one carbon footprint product.
The company explained that Eugene Corporation is currently the only company holding certified low-carbon Remicon products.
The environmental performance label system was introduced by the Ministry of Environment in 2001 to accurately provide consumers with information on the environmental impact of product manufacturing and to promote eco-friendly consumption. There are two stages: the first stage includes carbon footprint and environmental performance label certifications, and the second stage, which requires meeting more stringent standards, is the low-carbon product certification.
When Remicon certified with the environmental performance label is applied to buildings, it can receive additional points during the 'Green Building Certification (G-SEED)' evaluation. If certified as a green building, benefits such as relaxation of building standards including floor area ratio, as well as tax reductions on acquisition tax and property tax, are granted.
