A 'Shared Office' to Open from Basement Level 6 to Ground Level 6 on Itaewon-ro
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] A shared office building with six underground floors to six above-ground floors will be constructed on Itaewon-ro, between Itaewon Station and Hangangjin Station on Seoul Subway Line 6.
On the 12th, Seoul City held the 1st Urban and Architectural Joint Committee meeting and announced that the 'Itaewon-ro Surrounding District Unit Plan Decision (Amendment)' for 736-9 Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, and two other parcels was 'approved with modifications.'
With this decision, a shared office (business facility) and neighborhood living facilities meeting the scale of six underground floors to six above-ground floors and a total floor area of 7,506㎡ can be established. This is because the previously planned development of three parcels and two unit blocks under the existing district unit plan can now be integrated and developed as one unit. The maximum development scale has also been relaxed to a site area of approximately 1,270.8㎡. If development exceeds the maximum development scale under the district unit plan (1,000㎡ in quasi-residential areas), it must undergo review by the Urban and Architectural Committee.
This decision also includes the installation of a vertical public pedestrian passage (elevator) between Itaewon-ro and the adjacent side street. There is a significant height difference between the two roads, making it difficult for pedestrians to pass without climbing steep stairs. Seoul City stated, "Although the elevator will be constructed together with the building, it will be installed externally so that pedestrians with mobility difficulties can use it to move between Itaewon-ro and the side street."
