Hwasun-gun Promotes 'Vehicle Emission Reduction Project'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 11th that it will promote the ‘Vehicle Emission Reduction Project’ to create a pleasant and clean air environment.
The Vehicle Emission Reduction Project consists of four initiatives: ▲private distribution of electric vehicles (50 units, project cost 730 million KRW) ▲installation of diesel vehicle particulate matter reduction devices (9 units, 31 million KRW) ▲conversion of children’s school vehicles to LPG vehicles (10 units, 50 million KRW) ▲replacement of construction machinery engines (2 units, 33 million KRW), with a total support budget of 844 million KRW.
Eligible recipients for the electric vehicle private distribution project are residents aged 18 or older who have had an address in the county for more than one year as of the announcement date (the 10th), or corporations, organizations, and businesses (excluding rental businesses) that have had their business location in the county for more than one year.
However, applicants must sign a contract with the dealer and submit an ‘Electric Vehicle Purchase Contract’ before submitting the application.
Those eligible for the diesel vehicle particulate matter reduction device installation support are owners of old diesel vehicles classified as emission grade 5. The children’s school vehicle LPG conversion project targets owners of children’s school vehicles registered before December 31, 2011, who scrap (including export or deregistration) their vehicles and purchase new LPG vehicles for the same purpose.
The construction machinery engine replacement project targets owners of forklifts and excavators equipped with Tier-1 or lower engines.
Applications must be submitted by the 28th by downloading the announcement, filling out the form, and visiting the county office’s Environment Division in person.
