Seongdong-gu Accepts Entries for '2nd Seongdong-gu Life-Closely Policy Idea Contest' from Feb 10 to Mar 27...Last Year's Winning Idea 'Molka-Free Seongdong-gu' Reflected in Actual Policy, Gaining Strong Resident Support, Solutions Found Through Resident Ideas
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is holding the "2nd Seongdong-gu Life-Closely Policy Idea Contest" to improve daily inconveniences through various ideas from residents.
Following last year, the second "Seongdong-gu Life-Closely Policy Idea Contest" is a project aimed at actively listening to residents' voices about inconveniences they directly experience in daily life and working together to solve them.
Ideas are solicited to resolve representative chronic complaints residents feel in daily life, such as parking difficulties, illegal dumping of garbage, street smoking, and unauthorized disposal of cigarette butts, addressing these issues from the residents' perspective.
In last year's first contest, a total of 144 ideas were submitted, with 16 selected and 7 awarded.
Among the awarded works, "Molka (hidden camera)-free Seongdong-gu" was actually reflected in policy, leading to the implementation of the "Molka Detector Rental Service," which recorded a total of 27 rentals by January and received great response from residents.
The submission period for this contest is from the 10th of this month to March 27, and anyone interested in Seongdong-gu can participate.
Online submissions are available on the "Resident-Created Policy Communication Online Space Seongdong Residents' Hall (https://www.sd.go.kr/sdlab.do)" website, and selected ideas will be awarded prize money up to 1 million KRW. The announcement and awards ceremony will be held at the end of May.
